Benzodiazepines contain a class of treatments frequently prescribed for the relief of stress. Common benzodiazepines comprise Tavor, Valium, Rivotril, and Ativan. Each of these drugs functions on the central nervous system to increase the effects of a neurotransmitter known as GABA. This leads in a calming effect, lowering feelings of apprehension.
